Cleaner (Commercial) — Job Description & Salary in Germany

Mission

As a cleaner, you independently clean and maintain your assigned areas according to a fixed cleaning schedule. You work mostly on your own, usually outside the site's core business hours, and report any anomalies or damage to the [site manager / facilities team / management] .

Key responsibilities

• Routine cleaning of [office areas, restrooms, production areas, sales floors, common areas] according to a fixed cleaning schedule and checklist.
• Correct handling of cleaning products and equipment for each floor covering and surface ( [PVC, natural stone, carpet, stainless steel] ), including correct dosing and storage per the safety data sheet.
• Restocking consumables (soap, paper towels, toilet paper) and reporting stock shortages.
• Noticing and reporting damage, safety issues or irregularities in the cleaned areas.
• [If applicable] Periodic deep cleaning (carpet shampooing, deep floor cleaning, window cleaning) on a separate schedule.
• Responsible handling of keys, access cards or alarm codes when accessing the site unsupervised.
• Discretion about anything seen while cleaning outside business hours.

Profile

• Required : reliability and punctuality even when working independently and unsupervised; care and an eye for detail; willingness to work [early or late shifts, e.g. 6-9 a.m. or 6-9 p.m.] ; basic German or [English] to communicate with the site manager.
• Desired : [0-3] years of experience in commercial or industrial cleaning; experience with [a specialty area: cleanroom, operating theater, food production, glass and facade cleaning] ; a Class B driver's license if covering several rotating sites.
• Disqualifying : unreliable when working unsupervised; careless handling of cleaning products or safety rules; difficulty maintaining confidentiality when given access to sensitive rooms.
